Just a quick post today - I'm not sure anyone is reading artsy blogs these days, during the holidays, but I'll share a few new projects anyway. Whenever I don't post for a while, I always get messages from some of my sweet online friends, wondering if everything is OK. Thanks for thinking of me! Mostly it is just that the holidays keep all of us distracted and busier than any of us want to be. So, I'm really trying to slow down a bit and treasure each day as it comes. Christmas was peaceful and quiet at our house - on Christmas Eve we watched the movie, "The Christmas Shoes," I bought that one and the sequel, thinking we could watch the second one on Christmas day.
But, as soon as we finished watching the first movie, our Daddy said, "Let's watch the next one!" Which, of course, we did . . . . and both movies were great family fare (coming from a mom who RARELY watches movies!). I don't mind movies if I feel that there is a message that is meaningful, and that I am not wasting my time. I guess I just have so many other things in life that I want to do, that watching too many movies makes me crazy! But for Christmas Eve, two movies in one night was really fun. And then Christmas morning was the traditional chaos of the girls opening presents, Daddy helping the girls get the wrapping paper off, and Mama taking pictures. It's always the same, but that's what makes tradition.
But I'm always ready to move on after the holidays. And the main thing that I'm striving to get back into my life is consistent time for creativity. I guess I think I'm moving away from designing and creating children's clothing as much as I used to (although I am seriously wanting to write lots more eBook patterns!), and moving more towards fiber art projects, altered books, and creating a variety of tutorials and supplies for other artists and designers. I realize that there are lots of people who want to be creative, or learn to sew, but don't always know where to start. So, I'm feeling a tug at my heart strings to reach out and encourage others to follow their creative muse. That is such a reality for me, when I am working here in my studio, and both of my girls end up on the floor right underneath my feet,
creating their own masterpieces! So I want to support and encourage creativity in their lives, and in the lives of others that I come in contact with. I just wish they could create a little bit further away from my desk, because I sometimes trip over them when I turn around to find my scissors! This set of eight blue toille embellished hang tags and matching envelope are now available in my Etsy Shop - stop by soon and see what else is new at mamas*little*treasures!
Hope you all had a wonderful time of peace and joy during this holiday season, and I wish you all the blessings and goodness of a happy new year! Here are just a few pictures of my most recent projects - but I'm writing more eBooks as fast as I can, too!

I wish I had the time to be more creative. I always have ideas but don't ever finish them. Well, sometimes I do.
