The kids went back to school this week, so I really thought I was going to tackle that TO DO list and actually make progress. I am always amazed how the minutes and hours of every day can be devoured with teeny, tiny little interruptions . . . . and pretty soon it is bedtime again, and all I've accomplished is to react to the demands of everyone and everything around me. Not a good week.
Now it is Saturday morning, and I am again optimistic and hopeful. I have so many new projects to finish up, and lots of new items to list in my Etsy Shoppe. And my newest pattern eBook just came out on the YouCanMakeThis.com website. And I'm working on my next pattern book, and I actually did send out a shipment to the Pink Zebra boutitque. So, all in all, I guess it wasn't a totally insignificant week!
Here's my most recent vintage find. I will be listing this beautiful scarf / shawl in my Etsy shoppe this morning, along with several other items. Such a gorgeous color! It is kind of a peachy-cinnamon color, variegated from a very sheer and light pastel shade to a deep, rich shade that reminds me of all the spices in my baking cupboard. It also has delicate embroidery all over in a shimmery ivory thread. And all along each end there is beadwork. This is so elegant and would be perfect over a dancing dress!
I love this beadwork. It is so elegant and classy, but also has kind of a bohemian flair! I think it would be great with a peasant skirt and tank top . . . . or over a turtleneck sweater with jeans. I tied it up in the front and then added this charming little vintage pin.
Now wouldn't that be fun to wear on the lapel of a blazer or the collar of one of those sassy little swing jackets? I've got lots more vintage and handmade items coming up in my Etsy Shoppe . . . and my website as well! And if you like to create your own handmade items, you'll love my upcoming eBook entitled, "A-B-C-Details."This new eBook will feature instructions for learning how to do all those little details that you need to know to make your hand-crafted garments look as good on the inside as they do on the outside! Hope you have a wonderful, restful weekend, and I remain optimistic that next week will be a bit more productive here at mamas*little*treasures than this past week. I've got lots more exciting vintage finds to share with you soon!
I've been working diligently to fill up my little Etsy Shoppe! There will be lots of baby sets, toddler sets, mommy items, and home decor items when I get it stocked. Also, my website is coming along nicely. Lots of spring things to help us think WARM weather. Starting next week I'll begiving away one of my eBook patterns every Friday, so if you want to get busy stitching up some sweet spring outfits for your little darlings, just post right here on my blog, and I'll choose one winner every week in January.
There are so many incredible designers and artisans who have Etsy shoppes, and I've recently discovered another site for artists called Indepublic. I've met lots of very friendly folks over there, and it is such a supportive and welcoming group. If you are an independent crafter or artist, check it out. That's something I need to do in the next week . . . . make a list of links to all kinds of great websites for designers and artists. I'll post my list here as I am putting it together so that you can follow some of these trails to an adventure in the world of creativity!
Here's a soft and cuddly baby snugglie. It's a lap blanket for baby, made from the softest pink plush fabric on the front with two hearts appliqued right in the middle. The back of the blanket is the same white and pink polka dot flannel, for a cozy cover for your little one. Can't you tell that I've been having a great time making all of these sweet baby things? Well, I've got more that I'll post in the next few days. But if you have time to cruise around a bit, check out my new website as well as my Etsy Shoppe. I'm filling 'em up a little bit every day!
